I even had teachers who promoted it and made students who did not support the cause feel intolerant and hateful. 

I understand the &quot;goal&quot; of this day is to bring awareness and acceptance but it usually made for a hostile atmosphere and uncomfortableness for the rest of the students, regardless of their stance on homosexuality.
