For decades, our prayers have been wafting up through the heavens to His very throne similar to the thirteen spices of sweet sweet incense (prayers of the saints) that wafted up from the inner court of His Old Testament Temple.

Remember that the Millennial generation is the most pro-life generation (51%-53%) in the last five generations! Because you are our future and are making an impact, America has entered it's fourth Great Awakening since the birth of our Country. Some leaders in your generation have even vowed to overturn Roe v Wade. Pray that we are now in the birth pangs of revival and not the peak because God will continue to hear our prayers and heal our land if His remnant (us) continues to repent of our sins (overeating, cursing, adultery, abortion, homosexuality, slothfulness, lying, etc.) and hear His voice.

For your information, the Elliot Institute http://afterabortion.org/ has been instrumental in dispelling many myths relative to abortion aftereffects. The founder's research (Dr. David Reardon) yielded that women who become pregnant through rape and incest are more likely to heal from their conscious choice to have their babies (whether they keep them or place them for adoption) than women who choose to abort their babies. Studies have found that women who choose life are more likely to believe they made a conscious choice to transform tragic, traumatic and devastating experiences into something positive. They believe they turned an extreme negative into a positive, thus they feel they have regained control of their lives. As such, Dr Reardon's research found that these women do not experience the heartbreaking mental, emotional and physical illnesses that women who abort experience. Never heard the media report his findings ... guess we're not surprised this side of heaven. :)

Abigail Cord

http://www.lifenews.com/2006/09/12/nat-2579/

There is the link to the survey, if anyone is interested.

And although yes, there are someone women who get raped and then pregnant, MOST abortions are simply a women of reasonable age who consensualy had sex. They made a choice, albeit a poor one, and instead of bearing the child they use abortion as an ancedote to not face their bad decision. I feel as though most of these women who went through with an abortion now wish they could face the consequences of irresponsible sex rather than the emotional consequences of an abortion.

Jessica Rowell

Great points! The pro-choice movement should be %100 behind this bill, especially since pro-choicers claim to have the woman's best interests/health as the main priority. This should include her mental health as well.
If a woman has the "right" to terminate her pregnancy, she should have the right to be fully informed before making such a life-altering decision.

According to a recent pro-life survey conducted in Britain, 82% of the 248 women who responded regretted having an abortion. Almost all of the women said that future women considering abortions should be given more information on potential emotional and medical problems they will face afterwards.

"The survey found some of the women who had abortions had severe problems afterwards, including 14 who had seriously contemplated or attempted suicide, 15 who had developed alcohol addictions, and three who had severe eating disorders. Five confessed to abusing drugs, several had emotional breakdowns and another four said they got pregnant again quickly to have "atonement" babies."

Think of all the suffering these women, or at least most of them, could have been spared from if only they had receieved counseling and information, and forced to wait 72 hours in which they can process all the information. An abortion is like a tatoo, it's a decision that can be made amidst emotional turbulance and will be with you forever.

Although the fight against legal abortion may be impossible, I belive pro-choice groups will have a much stronger chance utilizing bills such as this to save the lives of the unborn rather than focusing on making it illegal.
